What a fucked up crazy time this is. We (a collective global we) have never seen anything like this. It’s uncharted territory and it’s changing every day. Plus, the news sites aren’t helping because there are choosing to run the most sensationalist headlines possible as clickbait. Which only adds to the overall anxiety of the populace

  • You may have lost your job or business because of the shutdown

  • You may have had your hours reduced

  • You may have to work from home

  • The kids are at home doing their lessons remotely

  • And we aren’t supposed to leave our homes unless it’s for essentials

It’s truly is a fuck-awful time at the moment. Especially if you have lost your job/business. (Non-apologies for all of the swearing, but I believe that during these times, it’s totally warranted.)

Your stress levels are going to be at an all-time high. And when we are super stressed, it blocks our rational thinking. Stupid bloody hormones and their bloody biochemical reactions. And there is the potential to spiral in a downwards direction. And no one wants that to happen to anyone.

So, I have decided to share some tips with you on how to maintain your sanity during the shutdown. And how to help family harmony on point. These tips come under the two main categories that I think that we will experience

  • Stress, Fear and Anxiety

  • Anger, Frustration, Resentment and Rage

But because I have so much that I want to share with you, I am writing them as two separate blogs. This one is focusing on Stress, Fear and Anxiety.

There is a lot of fear and anxiety going on at the moment. And that’s totally understandable. We don’t know what’s going to change from one day to the next.

Here are some tried and true methods that I have found to work to help reduce stress, fear and anxiety

Acupuncture Points – Locations

It’s a very rare Kinesiology session if the acupuncture points for the Amygdala don’t come up. The Amygdala is our Fight and Flight part of our brain and is one of the key triggers for anxiety and panic attacks. The Amygdala points are absolutely great for reducing stress, fear and anxiety

Some acupuncture points are singular, but most points are bilateral, which means they are on both the left and right sides of the body. And that means that you have to activate the point on both the left and the right side of the body. I will clearly indicate which is which

Emotional Stress Release [ESR’s] Points.

  • These points do what they say and release emotional stress

  • These are located on your forehead. To find these points, go to the middle of your eyebrow and then measure halfway between your eyebrows and your hairline and you have found your ESR’s (These points are bilateral)

Acupuncture Points for Stress Fear and Anxiety

Governing Vessel 16 [GV16] & Liver 1 [Liv1].

  • These are Amygdala points. I recommend doing these two points together. GV16 helps with overactive survival (which is when we get too fearful and our thinking capacity turns to mush {you can see that I am getting very technical here}). Liv1 helps to release both fear and the freeze response (i.e. the deer trapped in the headlights response)

  • You find GV16 by running your fingers up the back of your neck, up your spine. When you hit the base of the skull, that’s when you have reached GV16 – it’s just under the base of the skull (this point is singular)

  • You find Liver 1 on your big toe. It’s on the bottom inside corner of the toenail (these points are bilateral)

Central Vessel 15 [CV15]

  • Is a great point for releasing anxiety

  • To find this point, run your fingers down your sternum until you reach the end (after what is called the xiphoid process). About 0.5cm after that (for adults) is CV15 (this point is singular)

Heart 6 [Ht6]

  • Will help get you out of Fight and Flight mode (also an Amygdala point). In this case we are using it for the Flight mode aspect of it.

  • To find this point, run your fingers down your pinkie finger and palm on the palm side of your hand. Your fingers are going to run over the bumpy bony bit (again with the fantastic medical terminology) and about 0.5cm under the bony bump is Ht6 (these points are bilateral)

Acupuncture Points – How to activate them

Now that we have found all of the points, how do you activate them?

You can hold them – the key is to hold them very very lightly. Use two fingers and apply as much pressure as you would apply to your eyelids. Again, it’s only very very lightly. What you are waiting for is a rolling pulse. You will feel a roll under your fingers. You want to wait until this pulse is even (especially if the point is a bilateral point. Both the left and right point have to be rolling evenly)

Place an essential oil on them – I have a list of suitable essential oils below. My recommendation is to dilute the oil slightly in olive oil i.e. 2 drops of essential oil to a teaspoon of olive oil. And then rub the oil over the point in about a 1cm circle. It’s a set and forget situation. It will keep working until you wash the area. Do not use essential oils if you are pregnant

Place a flower essence on them – You can take the flower essence internally or you can place the essence on the point. This is also a set and forget option

Place a crystal on them – you can tape a crystal to the point/s. I have a list of suitable crystals below.

  • If you are going to use the crystals, I do recommend doing this at night and sleeping with them taped to the points, as having them taped to points and trying to go about your day is pretty difficult

  • If you want to activate GV16 with a crystal. I suggest taping it to your pillow (approximately when the point lies when you place your head on the pillow). Tape in down good and go to sleep with it there.

Essential Oils*

Clary Sage – eases anxiety and stress, and is deeply relaxing

Frankincense – deeply calming, revitalising and uplifting

Lavender – soothes and balances the emotions, helps with emotional wellbeing

Lemon – spring cleans the mind, bringing in clarity when fear has fogged it up

Sandalwood – it quietens and stills the mind

*Do not use essential oils if you are pregnant

Essential Ols for Stress Fear and Anxiety


Amazonite – a very soothing stone for the brain and nervous system, it helps to alleviate worry and fear

Amethyst – calms the mind, turning your thoughts away from panic and towards tranquillity and deep understanding

Apophyllite – is an effective stress reducer, releasing negative thought patterns

Blue Chalcedony – soothes our energy fields, it is calming and centring; excellent for people who tend to worry

Lepidolite – reduces stress and depression. Deeply calming, it helps you focus on what is important

Moonstone – enhances patience & calms overreactions

Turquoise – brings through wisdom and inner calm

If you don’t have any of these crystals, just send me a photo of the crystals that you have, and I will let you know which ones to use

Crystals for Stress Fear and Anxiety

Flower Essences

All of the flower essences that I have recommended below can be used every two hours. Just place 7 drops of the essence under your tongue and then swallow

Rescue Remedy – Bach Flowers: You can find this in all Woollies, Coles and Chemists

Emergency Essence – Australian Bush Flower Essences: This is their version of Rescue Remedy and you should be able to find it in Chemists

Flower Essences for Stress, Fear & Anxiety

Calm and Clear – Australian Bush Flower Essences: This is a great combination essence to calm your mind. You should be able to find this in Chemists

Shock Absorber – Tribe of the Tree: This one is brilliant when you feel like the world has collapsed around you. I actually rate this one, more effective than both Rescue Remedy or Emergency Essence. Buy from their website


For Stress, Fear and Anxiety, I am focusing on the Base and Brow Chakras

  • The Base Chakra is all about feeling safe, secure and abundant

  • The Brow Chakra is all about trusting ourselves and our intuition

When these two Chakras get blocked that is when fear really rears its ugly head. So how to clear these chakras. I would recommend either sound or crystals

  • Crystals – just place one or two of the above mentioned crystals under your bed under the Chakra and then set and forget

Sound Healings

Sound healings are fabulous for reducing stress and anxiety. If you are curious about how sound healings actually works, here is an article from healthline.com https://www.healthline.com/health/sound-healing#how-it-works

Apart from having a one on one sound healing session, I would highly recommend either Spotify (premium) or YouTube. Just type in “Sound Healing” into the search bar and you will be spoilt for choice. I personally love Meditative Mind on both Spotify and YouTube

  • Spotify premium is great because there are no ads

  • YouTube is great because of the vast range that they have on there (but you will have ads). Just make sure you turn the auto-play function off

Sound Healing for Stress Fear and Anxiety

How I recommend you listen to this music is to play it via your phone underneath your Brow Chakra (which in reality means placing your phone on the floor under your bed, under where your brow is likely to be positioned on your pillow). I am targeting the Brow Chakra because we have to calm that mind down.

You can use the sound healing to either have a quick power-snooze, an afternoon nap, or to fall asleep at night. It will have a calming effect on your energy field and mind

Guided Meditations

Listening to Guided meditations have a positive effect on your mental and emotional states. Meditation has been used for thousands of years. And scientific research has joined the party in proving its effectiveness. There are numerous apps you can run on your phones and if you type in Guided Meditations into YouTube you will literally bring up thousands of videos. I suggest that you type in

  • Guided meditation stress

  • Guided meditation anxiety

  • Guided meditation fear

And then choose the length of time you want to listen for. You will find anything from 5 minutes to over an hour

Energetic Healing
