I am here today to talk to you about your emotional wellbeing and why it’s important to regularly care for it.

Now days it can be all too easy to just focus on our physicality.

  • Am I eating right?

  • Am I healthy?

  • Do I look good?

And I totally agree, looking after your health is incredibly important. You might regularly go to a gym, play active sports, eat only organic foods etc. This is a fantastic way to look after your body.

The question I am here to ask you is, what are you doing to look after your emotional wellbeing? Are you putting in as much effort into your emotional health as you are putting into your physical health?

We have been influenced by generational patterns to believe that if we see someone for our emotional health then we must be crazy or self-indulgent. But is it?

  • Is it self-indulgent to want to be happy?

  • Is it self-indulgent to want to be confident?

  • Is it self-indulgent to want to feel good about yourself?

Do you treat your emotional well-being as well as you do your car?

Why am I asking this question? Because it seems that psychologically it’s ok to spend thousands of dollars on buying or maintaining our cars. But the thought of spending that much on our emotional health, well that’s where we seem to baulk at the cost.

The RACQ estimate that the running costs on a medium car (0-5 years old) is $213.29 per week. That equates to $11,090 per year.

Regular car maintenance

Yet we don’t baulk at paying that because we love the freedom that having a car brings us. Try to imagine your life without having a car.

  • Is it convenient to get where you want to go?

  • Does it make your life easier or harder?

Having a car does make life easier for us. It allows us to travel to places in a faster, easier fashion. Which is why we place such high value on them. We research the best car that suits our needs, insure it, put the best petrol into it, and get it regularly maintained.

But do we place the same importance on our own wellbeing? Would we be willing to spend even a quarter of that amount to make our life better? Do we do regular activities that make ourselves happy? Do we take our souls in for regular maintenance to ensure that it continues to be fulfilled, confident, resilient

Emotional Wellbeing
  • Or do we allow ourselves to become run down?

  • To become super stressed?

  • Do we lack confidence in ourselves?

  • Are we worried all the time?

    • Worried about what people think of us?

    • Worried that we are not good enough?

Like with everything in life, the effort that we put into something determines the outcome that we receive.

So how can we regularly maintain our wellbeing?

There are several ways to do this.

Meditation

Meditation has been proven to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety levels

  • Improve your memory and decision making abilities

  • Renew your enthusiasm for life

  • Declutter your brain and improve your focus

group meditation

And there are a number of different ways to meditate

  • You can join a meditation group

  • Download meditation apps onto your phone

  • Type in “Guided Meditation . . . . .” (e.g. confidence, stress, sleep, chakras etc) into YouTube. There are literally thousands of meditations on YouTube just waiting for you to listen to them

Following your passion

When I say following your passion, I am not referring to making big career changes. I am referring to what activity do you truly love to do? What activity brings you great joy? What activity can you yourself in without realising where the time went?

For me it is painting, and when I am painting, I go into a mindfulness state of being. Nothing exists outside of the painting that I am working on

If you are having trouble finding what your passion is, type “how to find your passion” into google. There are numerous articles with advice and tips on how to identify what you are passionate about.

When we spend time doing what we are passionate about, we light up our soul

Getting healings

I saved the most important for last. Getting healings done. When we get regular healings (and when I say regular, I mean every month or every two months), we are ensuring that our emotional wellbeing is in tip top shape.

Getting regular healings is a great way to release the stresses of life.

Make healings a priority
  •  It allows us to resolve any issues or events that might have impacted us in a negative way.

  • It helps us to release emotional baggage from our past.

  • It helps us to become the bigger better brighter version of ourselves

And I will give myself as an example. I was at a training course recently, and people asked me why I got into Kinesiology. And I explained to them it was because I was depressed, and I had no self-esteem, no confidence in myself and I was still suffering the effects of all the bullying that I had received. And I could no longer continue living my life with the pain and numbness that I felt.

And they were blown away. They couldn’t believe that the person in front of them, this person who was so sure of themselves, so confident to stand in her truth could have ever suffered from self-esteem issues. And that is because of the commitment that I had made to myself when I first started my healing journey. I made myself a promise that “no matter what it cost, I would continue this journey until I had cleared all of my baggage”.

There are a number of different healing modalities that you can choose from

  • Theta Healing

  • Sound Healing

  • Family Constellations

  • Energy Healings

  • And my personal favourite – Kinesiology (which most health funds will give rebates for)

Benefits of sound healing

And it’s not a case of either / or. I have experienced all of the above healing modalities and they have all helped to build a better, stronger, more confident me.

The thing that I love about Complementary Medicine is that it is all complimentary. Each modality, each session builds upon the last. It’s up to you to see which ones resonate with you. To find a practitioner that you gel with.

The way I see it, we have a good 80+ years on this planet, so why live this life feeling stressed, lacking in confidence, worrying about what other people think of you. There are solutions out there that can completely change your life around. There are techniques that can make you the best version of you that could possibly exist.

Start choosing joy, happiness, confidence as essential parts of life.
